Drive Structure
Belting System
Belting widths are 20" and 26". The belting system consists of individual belt pans fastened together in sequence. Should a section become torn, the damaged belt pans are easily replaced. The convolutions on the belting stretch over the terminal ends of the conveyor to permit scraping of sticky material.
Power is supplied by a 2,3, or 5 HP electric motor. The conveyor belt speed is controlled through a gear reducer, sheaves and v-belts. Notice the main conveyor chain sprocket on this system - it is machined from UHMW Polyethylene.
Tension Structure
The tension of the main conveyor chain which carries the belting is adjusted at this station. The metal tubes contain compression springs which apply force to the rear sprocket to tension the chain. A machined UHMW polyethylene chain sprocket is housed in this structure.
Chain
4 inch pitch, case hardened steel chain with enhanced durable guide block system. The guide block is a wear element and may be replaced by removing one bolt.
Conveyor Track
The conveyor track, whether configured as a straight section, or a vertical, horizontal, or helical curve, is comprised of a UHMW polyethylene channel assembled on a fabricated I-beam. The channel components have standard dimensions and are replaceable on site. The polyethylene surface is an extremely durable, low friction slide surface in contact with the main conveyor chain as it is pulled through the conveyor path.
